Frist birthday duck and ladybug.

My baby just turned one. For my older girls I made a cute little duck cake for their first birthdays.
The night before the big day I was thinking about my little ones cake and I just decided that I have done enough duck cakes and am ready for something different. So there's what my baby ended up with.
She loved having her own little ladybug cake to eat and it looked so sweet. I decorated the ladybugs with Marshmallow Fondant which was so easy to make and so good to eat. I recommend it to everyone. And it wasn't as hard to get the black and red colors as I thought it would be. Just used a lot of color tint. I love how it turned out.

Started as Valentine Cake, Ended up as Easy Chocolate

Here is what happens when you make a cake with the "help" of a four and two year old. You may ask yourself, what's the problem, this is a cute cake. And it is, it just isn't what I wanted it to be. I told my daughters we were going to make a valentines day cake for Daddy. I made a chocolate cake and decorated it with chocolate frosting. Then I made a chocolate heart on the top. The idea was to put the sprinkles inside the heart. Well, four and two year olds, love sprinkles (at least mine do). So we ended up with sprinkles all over the top. It was cute, it just didn't have the valentines day flair I wanted. The border is just a simple shell border, the edging on the side is made with a cool tool I have, you just run the tool around the cake and da, ta, super easy.

Another Princess Cake

Here's another princess. Surprised? You wouldn't be if you knew I have three daughters. The oldest is only 5 this year so I know that there are many more princesses in my future. For now, here is Giselle. She is a new character from Disney, from the movie Enchanted. My girls just love this movie. I decided to do her in her wedding dress for the simple reason that it's really the only one she wears in the movie that was full enough to use this cake pan.
It is a simple doll cake with the Wilton wonder pan. I used an Ariel barbie, Disney doesn't sell any Giselle barbies. None that I could find anyway. Since Giselle has long red hair I felt like it'd do.
